Power line shutdowns due to wind have always been a global problem that impedes the safe and stable operation of power grids, especially in typhoon-prone coastal areas and regions with frequent severe convective events. Traditional insulators are subject to significant swing when exposed to strong winds, resulting in insufficient air gap between the conductor and the support, which can cause discharge and trip the protection. In addition, the probability of successful reactivation is low, resulting in significant losses for the national economy.
The 220 kV and 500 kV wind resistant insulators submitted for testing are new products developed by our company based on many years of technical experience and market research. The products utilize high-performance silicone rubber composite linings and an integrated injection molding process to provide superior resistance to contamination breakdown.
