GW1Isolation Switch 15kV Isolation Switch (also known as Disconnector)
Isolation switch GW1 is a switching device mainly used for 15kV transmission lines, designed for "power supply isolation, switching, connection and disconnection of small current circuits", without arc suppression function. When the isolation switch is in the split position, there must be an insulation distance between the contacts and obvious signs of disconnection that meet the specified requirements; a switching device that can conduct current under normal circuit conditions and current under abnormal conditions (such as a short circuit) for a specified time when in the closed position.
Typically used as a high voltage isolation switch, that is, an isolation switch with a rated voltage above 1kV. Its operating principle and structure are relatively simple, but due to its wide application and high reliability requirements, it has a significant impact on the design, construction and safe operation of substations and power plants.
The main feature of an isolation switch is that it has no arcing capacity and can only open and close circuits without load current.
